The Client
The Abbeyfields Clinic specialises in integrated physical health, wellbeing and skincare. It has treatment centres in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket.
The Brief
The clinic’s practice centre in Britannia House, Bury St Edmunds wanted to upgrade the lighting in the treatment rooms and reception area to provide a better environment for a wide range of clients.
Quality of light and effective controls were a prime consideration and it was also important to ensure that lighting changes provided the most energy-efficient solution, while reducing carbon footprint.
The legacy lighting was Category 2 fluorescent four-tube panels, which provided an adequate but gloomy environment. This was a challenge, particularly in the skincare treatment area where the best quality bright light was needed.
The other treatment rooms lacked an effective method to allow full-range dimming while maintaining the quality of light.
The Solution
SaveMoneyCutCarbon held initial consultation with the clinic and surveyed the property to specify the most effective lighting that met all needs.
The installation team scheduled the retrofit work to ensure there was no disruption to the working practices of the busy professionals at the clinic.
The existing fittings were removed and the team installed new 600×600 EcoLED panels in the three treatment rooms and reception area. At the same time, the team fitted a wireless control system from Lutron.
The overriding benefit of the Lutron control system is that the dimming process is smooth and flicker-free across the whole range of lighting. The team fitted desktop mounts to allow clinic practitioners easy access to the wireless controllers.
