The Client
St Patrick’s Catholic Primary is a successful school in Farnborough with a pre-school unit, maintained by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth.
The Diocese has engaged SaveMoneyCutCarbon as energy-saving partner for its network of schools, with the aim of reducing pressure on budgets as well as making a contribution to climate protection through reduced carbon footprint.
The Brief
SaveMoneyCutCarbon conducted a full lighting survey and identified the opportunity to cut energy costs year on year through a full LED lighting retrofit.
St Patrick’s also wanted to improve the quality of light throughout the school.
SaveMoneyCutCarbon has proven expertise in applying for interest-free loans from Salix Finance and the school was keen to ensure the project would be self-financing through savings on electricity costs.
The Solution
The school was delighted with the improved quality of light savings scheduled after SaveMoneyCutCarbon’s Field Services Team managed the lighting project from survey to specification, installation, testing and monitoring.
The fully DBS-checked team installed 208 LED panels, tubes and 2D lights and downlights during out-of-school hours to ensure no disruption to teachers or pupils.
As part of the end-to-end service, SaveMoneyCutCarbon also completed the complex Salix Finance funding application on behalf of the school. This ensured that an interest-free loan would cover all project costs, with repayments covered by energy savings.
