Overview
Ready for an afternoon of eco-friendly fun? This DIY Kit is perfect for those of us that like to be creative and crafty, and it serves as a great gift for birthdays, Christmas, and other occasions.
Main:
Beeswax wraps are a fantastic sustainable solution to keep your food fresh, completely replacing single use clingfilm and sandwich bags in your home.
Whether you want to spend time with your friends doing something crafty or are looking for ways to get your children involved creatively in eco-friendly activities, this DIY kit has everything you need to make your own beeswax wraps.
This kit also makes the perfect gift for the eco-conscious loved ones in our lives.
This DIY Kit contains:
- 2 x pieces of quality cotton fabrics, prints selected at random (28cm x 28cm)
- 2 x blocks of beeswax, pine resin and coconut oil mix
- A set of instructions on how to make your beeswax wrap
Please note: The fabrics may differ from those featured in the product images.
Each printed piece of fabric is OEKO-TEX certified from UK suppliers that source end-of-line materials from the fashion industry - essentially recycling waste from the industry.
BEE Zero Waste’s wax blend is handmade in the UK and uses:
- the finest beeswax from local UK beekeepers
- locally sourced natural pine resin
- organic coconut oil
By sourcing supplies from the UK, BEE Zero Waste reduces their carbon footprint, reduces risk from falsely certified GOTS fabrics and removes the price hurdle that prevents shoppers ditching plastic for beeswax wraps by keeping their wraps as affordable as possible.
How to care for your beeswax wraps
Once you’ve had your fun and games making your own wraps, you’ll want to make sure you look after them, so they last as long as possible.
To wash your beeswax wraps, use soap in cold water and hang to dry – hot water will degrade the wax on your wrap. It is recommended that you refresh your wraps every few months either in an electric oven or using an iron. Full instructions can be found in the Media & Downloads section.
Beeswax wraps are not suitable for using in the microwave or oven. Ensure that all food is cold before you use these wraps, as hot food will cause the wax to melt.
Please note these wraps are flammable so keep away from naked flames and do not refresh in a gas oven.
