We’re sharing the amazing Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group energy-savings story at the UK’s first international conference on sustainable tourism tomorrow (November 8th 2013) in Bristol.
We are working with Carlson Rezidor group hotels in the UK and Ireland to provide an end-to-end solution that is delivering impressive savings up to nearly 50 per cent in some areas through LED lighting and effective management of guest room heating & ventilation (HVAC). Water management is also in the mix – and the first-year savings should be well over £600,000.
SaveMoneyCutCarbon, which has just won coveted status as an Endorsed Green Tourism Supplier, will share the Green Tourism conference platform tomorrow at 14:35 with Simon Pearson, Area Chief Engineer, UK and Ireland, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which has been making enormous strides in sustainability this year.
The case study we will present shows in detail how we achieved the expected savings, together with the reasons why it is essential to find the right sustainability provider, one with the knowledge, skills and experience to manage complex energy-saving projects from start to finish.
You can join in the entire conference online by registering now.
The Green Tourism conference is being held in the At-Bristol Science Centre near the city’s docks, will showcase some of the best and most up-to-date practices adopted by the travel and hospitality industry.
SaveMoneyCutCarbon is also joining some of the country’s biggest and most vocal green business champions as event sponsors, including banking giants Triodos; Ecover, the world’s largest green cleaning product company; NIBE, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers in the domestic heating sector and Kimberly Clark, a leading provider of hygiene, safety and productivity solutions.
We are delighted to be a key sponsor of the Green Tourism Conference and Awards. Sustainability goes hand-in-hand with cost cutting and effective Corporate Social Responsibility and we are looking forward to sharing our simple, proven, effective solutions that help hotels reduce operating expenses by cutting energy, water and carbon footprint.
Green Tourism conference delegates from the UK and abroad will be attending in person and online to hear us and other keynote speakers share the latest developments and trends while also being encouraged to network and exchange ideas.
The one-day conference is the highlight of Green Tourism Week, which has featured a series of events up and down the country to promote sustainability within the industry and raise consumer awareness.
Andrea Nicholas, director of Green Tourism, the UK-based certification programme which is now the largest of its kind in the world, says the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) advises that increased awareness and consumer demand for sustainability is now estimated to account for more than 11 per cent of the global consumer tourism spend.
Andrea says: “This conference brings together some of the leading lights in sustainable tourism from across the UK and further afield. There’s a lot going on within the responsible tourism sector across the UK and internationally and this conference brings together many of those businesses and organisations leading the way.
“As a result of public demand, the need for energy savings and desire for reduced costs sustainability and associated benefits are increasingly high on the agenda of many government departments, tourism authorities, hospitality industry leaders, architects, tour operators, developers and product manufacturers.
“Responsible tourism is the biggest growth area within the world travel industry. Consumers increasingly look for accommodation providers, visitor attractions, travel operators and even restaurants to promote sustainability.”
Another highlight of the conference will be the presentation of the Goldstar Awards 2013 presented to the leading green tourism businesses across the UK, representing the top three per cent in the country.
