Corsa-e now available to pre-order, first 500 customers receive free charging kit

One of Britain’s most popular cars has gone electric.

The Vauxhall Corsa-e is now available to pre-order and the first 500 customers to place an order will receive a free home charging kit when they take delivery.

Vauxhall hope that the Corsa-e will “normalise electric car ownership, as you’d expect from a car wearing such a familiar badge”.

How fast is the Corsa-e 0-62 time?

0-62 can be accomplished in 8.1 seconds which is an impressive figure and should encourage those addicted to speed not to turn their back on the stylish car. However, it’s not as fast as the LEAF which can do 0-62 in under 8 seconds (but is £6,000 more!)

The Corsa-e has a top speed of 93 mph.

How much will the Corsa-e cost?

The starting price is £26,490 which already includes the Government’s £3,500 Plug-in Car Grant.

So, while it’s not cheap it’s certainly affordable.

According to Vauxhall’s website, on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), the Corsa-e will start at £270 per month for 47 months, with a customer deposit of £5,549.40 and an optional final payment of £9,123.00, based on an SE model with optional Orange Fizz paint (£650).

What specs are available for the Corsa-e?

There will be two high spec trims available, both of which include as standard:

  • 7-inch touch screen
  • 11kWh on-board charger
  • satellite navigation
  • LED headlights
  • alloy wheels
  • rear parking sensors
  • DAB radio

What’s the range of the Corsa-e?

Based on the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), the Corsa-e has a range of 205 miles and can be charged 80% in 30 minutes. A 1.5 hour charge from a normal household socket will deliver 62 miles, whereas a 7.5kW domestic EV charger can provide a full charge in around 7 hours.
