E27 bulbs, also known as an ES bulb, refer to an Edison screw fitting. E27 bulbs are easy to install as the threaded metal base holds the bulb securely in place. They are designed to fit in standard light fixtures and are most often found in domestic settings. Our range of E27 LED bulbs come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colour temperatures and lumens for all of your lighting requirements.
The base of an E27 bulb has an Edison screw fitting and it’s 27mm in diameter – a popular fitting for domestic settings such as lamps and feature lights.
While both an E27 and E26 have an Edison screw base, the E26 bulb is 26mm in diameter and the E27 bulb is 27mm. Although they are virtually identical and you could fit an E26 bulb into an E27 socket, you should still use the correct bulb for your setting to ensure it meets electrical safety standards.
The main difference lies in their voltage. An E27 bulb is rated at 240V while an E26 is rated at 120V. This can lead to a greater risk of electrical fire and short circuits.
